Massachusetts House Opposes Plans For Casino Games
August 29th, 2008In early March of 2008, lawmakers in the state of Massachusetts voted to block the controversial plan of the governor to expand casino gambling games operations in the state. This caught many gambling games supporters a little bit off guard as the state had previously been quite supportive of plans to expand casino games in the past. This development is also surprising primarily since widespread rumors had been circulating over the past few months that three establishments offering gambling games would soon be built in the state. With the passage of this decision however, it seems that this would not likely happen any time soon.
The vote to block casino games was an overwhelming 108 to 46, and the house instead voted for the further study of casino gambling games. It would seem then that the residents of Massachusetts would have to wait a while longer before they can finally get to enjoy casino games.
